Joe Hammer, Sales ManagerI've been working at Bear Creek Lumber since May 1999. My responsabilities are managing sales, training, recruiting, knowing the entire inventory and customer/sales relations. My family have been in the lumber industry in this area as well as coastal WA and OR for over 100 years. My roots run deep in this industry and I truly appreciate working with one of the only renewable resources. I hope through proper practices my grand children will be able to use wood just as I have. On my personal projects I have worked with Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Englemann Spruce -Lodgepole Pine, Ponderosa Pine, D-Fir, Hemlock, Red & White Oak and Ipe. I have incorporated these items my personal house projects of remodeling siding, trim, paneling, decking, cabinets, log furniture and shaker style furniture. My favourite products are Douglas Fir and Alaskan Yellow Cedar. These are both excellent woods for many reasons. I would plan to use D-Fir for a timber frame someday. I would use AYC for interior paneling. Other species I would use would be WRC for siding. Ipe for decking. Port Orford for Bathroom and closet paneling. Ipe for flooring. Clear Vertical Grain Douglas Fir for interior trim. Maple slabs for my butcher block and counter tops. White oak for my cabinets. Black walnut for my drawer and cabinet handles. Joe's customer feedback"Lumber order arrived this morning, all unloaded looks great. Thanks again for all your help in making this order go smooth. Hope to do business with you in the future and I will pass on the good service to all I can." Joe's Featured ProjectsMore about JoeI enjoy the outdoors. I mountain bike, hike, ski, hunt and spend time with my family. Joe's Lumber TipYou get what you pay for. Dense fiber is very important for longevity and easier workability. The most important aspect to building is planning and education. An informed buyer who takes their time will have a better outcome than one who rushes. |
